Summary of Clerk's Role
The Village Clerk is an elected official serving a four-year term. The Clerk is the official “Keeper of the Record”. The Clerk attends meetings of the Village Board, maintains an accurate record of Board Meetings, processes follow-up documentation for action taken at those meetings and certifies copies of official Village records. Other responsibilities include processing Freedom of Information (FOIA) requests, maintaining custody of the Village Seal, publishing legal notices, coordinating local elections, processing Block Party and Solicitation requests and administering the Oath of Office to appointed officials, Police Officer’s and Firefighter’s as well as Committee and Commission members.
