Mayor & Village Board

The Village of Hillside operates a Mayor-council form of government, where the mayor and the Board of Trustees work together to draft and enact municipal laws and oversee Village Departments.

The Village President (Mayor) is elected to a four-year term and serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. The Mayor performs certain duties as defined by the Village Code, which is local law, or by state statues. Joseph T. Tamburino’s current term expires in 2025.

Board of Trustees

The Village Board is made up of six elected trustees. Together with the mayor, they are responsible for adopting ordinances and setting policies and direction for the Village of Hillside. Trustees are elected for four-year terms. Elections are staggered, with three trustees elected every four years.
