Board of Trustees
Overview
The Village Board is the policy making body of the Village. The Board is made up of six elected trustees. Together with the mayor, they are responsible for adopting ordinances and setting policies and direction for the Village of Hillside. Trustees are elected for four-year terms. Elections are staggered, with three trustees elected every four years.
Meetings
The Village Board meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7:30 p.m., at the Village Hall, 425 Hillside Avenue. The meeting on the second Monday is a Board-of-a-Whole meeting, which is a working committee meeting. No action is taken at this meeting. On the fourth Monday the Regular Board meeting is held. It is at this meeting that official action is taken. The Regular meeting begins with the Town Hall Section, which is the portion of the meeting where residents can address the Village Board.
