Economic Development

The Village of Hillside is a home rule unit of government that is proud of the relationships it maintains with the business community. The Village prides itself on community aesthetics and values. Hillside is celebrated as one of the most diverse, balanced communities in the Chicago metro area.

In its early history, Chicago recognized the power of Hillside’s location for industrial access and transshipment mobility. Situated along the I-290 corridor and in close proximity to O'Hare airport and main roadways, Hillside is truly at the heart of the western suburbs of Chicago.

Hillside is home to a number of businesses including the Hillside Town Center, located on Mannheim Road, directly off Interstate 290 (Eisenhower Expressway). This center opened in April of 2009 and has been thriving ever since. Super Target, Michael’s, Petco, HomeGoods, Ross Dress for Less, Krispy Kreme, and others have made this center their home.

The mission of Economic Development in Hillside is to attract and promote the appropriate growth and expansion of retail, office, light industry, distribution, warehouse and related businesses within the Village in order to strengthen the tax base and increase job opportunities for our residents. The Village works to attract and maintain businesses in the community. Hillside also serves the community by creating and fostering successful programs to retain and bolster existing business activities within the Village.

We welcome the opportunity to work with current and prospective businesses. Our team would be happy to meet and discuss your needs.
