The Village of Hillside fulfills requests for public records under the guidelines of the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140).

All request must be submitted in writing using the online form below or a hard copy submitted in-person, by mail, fax, or delivery.

Freedom of Information Act

What is FOIA? 
 
The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) provides the public with the right to request access to records from any federal agency. It protects citizen’s right to be informed and allows for government transparency. Records that are not subject to the act include invasion of personal privacy, requests for the purpose of furthering a commercial enterprise, or to disrupt the duly-undertaken work of any public body independent of the fulfillment of any of the rights of the people to access to information.
