Solicitation Information
On March 25, 2013, the Village of Hillside passed Ordinance 13-05, concerning solicitation. It is the policy of the Village of Hillside that the residents shall make the determination of whether or not solicitors shall be invited to their respective residences. If you do not wish to be solicited, as defined by Section 22-691 of the Village of Hillside Code of Ordinances, you will need to complete a Solicitation Options application and return to the Village Clerk’s office. These are available on our website, or at the Village Hall.
After completing and returning this form, you will be given a “No Solicitors” decal to be displayed on or near the main entrance to your residence in such a way that it will be easily seen by solicitors.
For your information, all solicitors are required to wear a Village of Hillside issued solicitation badge, visible at all times. Solicitation hours are between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on weekdays, 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Saturdays. No soliciting shall take place on Sundays or holidays. Please call the Hillside Police Department at (708)449-6133 if your “No Solicitors” sticker is ignored, if the dates and times are not followed, or if the solicitor is not registered and wearing a Village of Hillside badge.
