Statement from Hillside Police

On February 2, 2023, at approx. 6:00 PM two offenders approached a salesman at the CarMax on Wolf Rd in Hillside while he was preparing a vehicle for a customer test driver. One offender displayed a handgun and demanded the keys to the vehicle. Both offenders drove off in the vehicle. Hillside police tracked the vehicle with the assistance of other area police departments including the Chicago Police who used a police helicopter in the search. The vehicle was recovered at approx. 830pm in the 3100 block of Douglas Blvd in Chicago. The offenders fled the scene and are currently at large. Police are investigating the incident and looking for leads.
