The Village of Hillside purchases and provides Lake Michigan water to its residential and business customers.
Drinking water is purchased from the City of Chicago where it is chlorinated then transmitted to the Village of Melrose Park who stores, re-chlorinates and then transmits the water from the City of Chicago boundary to the eight communities that they supply. The Village of Melrose Park transmits the water to the Hillside – Berkeley Water Commission who in turn re-chlorinates then transmits the water to the Village of Hillside.

Village Water Quality Report
When the U. S. Congress passed the 1996 Safe Drinking Water Act amendments, the U. S. Environmental Protections Agency (USEPA) was given the mandate to require each community water system to provide each of its customers with a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) annually.
This year, as in the past years, your tap water met all USEPA and state drinking water health standards. The Public Works Department vigilantly safeguards our water supply. Below is the link to the most recent report.
