The Village of Hillside


 
 

Hillside is located in Proviso Township which is part of Cook County, Illinois. Hillside is in the 13th Congressional District. Turning to State Government, Hillside, North of the Eisenhower is in the 52nd Legislative District and the 25th Senatorial District. South of the Eisenhower, Hillside is in the 44th Legislative District and the 22nd Senatorial District.

The governing body of Hillside consists of a President and six Trustees, elected at-large for overlapping four year terms, with an elected Village Clerk. The Village Board meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. All meetings are held at 7:30 P.M. in the Village Hall, 425 Hillside Avenue. An appointed administrator oversees Village functions, including full-time professional fire and police departments, public works and emergency services and disaster departments.

The Board meeting on the second Monday of the month is a working committee session known as a Board-of-a-Whole meeting. No final action on Village business is taken at these meetings. Regular Board meetings are held on the fourth Monday of the month, when formal action is taken on Village business. These meetings begin with a Town Hall Session when Village Residents are encouraged to bring matters pertaining to the Village to the attention of the Board.

Special meetings and public hearings are scheduled by the Board as necessary, and public notice is given of such meetings through the media, notices posted at the Village Hall, and by mail when required by law.
