American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days
The West Cook Area cancer SURVIVORS are among tens of thousands of people receiving “Gifts of Hope” during the American Cancer Society Illinois Division “Daffodil Days” Campaign. Sales of this first flower of Spring and the symbol of hope, help fund the Illinois Division Research Program – a program that has resulted in numerous scientific discoveries and which is contributing to finding the cure for cancer. More than 60,000 Illinois residents will be diagnosed with cancer this year and approximately 26,000 will die of the disease.
Residents stopping by the Village Hall on Thursday, March 23rd, will receive a FREE DAFFODIL, symbolizing that Hillside believes in the “Gift of Hope”. Since the quantity of Daffodils are limited, we will be giving out one flower per person while the supply lasts. In the past, Daffodil Days in Illinois raised more than $450,000 to help fight cancer through research, education, advocacy and patient services. Pick up your free flower and welcome in Spring and most of all…Hope. |
