Recreation Memorial Park District The Memorial Park District, which was established in 1928, is dedicated to providing local residents with the highest quality programs available. The Memorial Park District was sanctioned by the Circuit Court of Cook County to provide recreational facilities, services and programs, primarily for the residents living within its boundaries. The Memorial Park District has within its borders, all of Bellwook and Stone Park, and parts of Berkeley, Hillside, Melrose Park and Northlake. The goal of the Park District is to maintain and protect properties and to provide thousands of park patrons with recreational opportunities. These include gym and workout facilities as well as special recreational programs for mentally, physically and hearing-impaired participants. Hillside Commons Bounded by Hillside Avenue, Washington Blvd., Elm Street, and Butterfield Rd., Hillside Commons is the home field for boys baseball and girls softball. There is a children's playground, plus plenty of open space. The Commons is the facility that is used when the Village holds it's many family activities throughout the year, including the Summer Concerts and the Taste of Hillside. Boys & Girls Club of West Cook County The Boys & Girls Club of West Cook County is a place where children ages 7 to 18 can come after school or in the summer to enjoy games, art classes, and sports. They also help with educational development, called the "Power Hour", as well as giving children Health and Life skills. For more information visit their website.
