Hillside Police Department Parking & Traffic Regulations: The speed limit on all village streets is 20 m.p.h. unless otherwise posted. The speed limit for all alleys is 10 m.p.h. Parking is not allowed on village streets for more than 30 minutes each day between the hours of 2:00 A.M. and 6:00 A.M. In addition, there are several areas of town where parking is not permitted during anytime of the day, except by permit only. In residential areas, automobiles may be parked in the garage, or on a surfaced driveway, as long as the car does not block the sidewalk between 7:00 A.M. and 11:00 P.M. Vehicles may not be parked anywhere else in the front yard or parkway. It is unlawful to park any vehicle on any village street after a three (3) inch snowfall and before the street is cleared of snow. Anyone wishing to park for more than 60 minutes, a commercial vehicle in a residential area, should contact the Village Hall. In general, only one such vehicle may be parked in a garage or the rear yard of a residential lot. ***Remember for emergencies dial 9-1-1*** |
